Service Description

With over a decade of experience in private music instruction and six years of study under some some of the world's premiere saxophonists, I have developed a structured approach to teaching that prioritizes musical growth, understanding and fulfillment. My intense study of woodwind pedagogy has left me with a comprehensive understanding of how to best guide students to achieving their goals. In 2024, I completed Master of Music degrees in Saxophone Performance and Improvisation at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance under world renowned artist teachers Dr. Timothy McAllister and Dr. Andrew Bishop. Previous to my studies in Ann Arbor, Dardick attained a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance—under Professor Taimur Sullivan—as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Global History at Northwestern University. Other influential saxophone teachers of mine include Roger Birkeland, Geof Bradfield, Quentin Coaxum, Mark Colby, Dr. Frederick Hemke, Jeremy Kahn, Joe Lulloff, and Chris Madsen. During the 2023-24 academic year, I occupied the Saxophone Instructor role at Belleville High School and instructed a private studio of 11 saxophone students across various ensembles in Van Buren Public Schools. Students saw great improvement in fundamental areas such as sound production and rhythmic integrity over the course of the year and fulfilled previously untapped musical potential with the application of thorough pedagogy to both solo and chamber repertoire. One student from the Belleville studio successfully auditioned for a collegiate music education program under my guidance. Now local to Washington, DC, I am currently building a private studio in the DMV area. I also serve as instructor of saxophone and clarinet at the International School of Music and instructor of saxophone at the Sitar Center for the Arts.
